Switching gears, Beyonce climbs all the way to the top, Akon "smacks" up the charts, Justin Timberlake comes up, Fergie can't compete, and John Legend continues on. Beyonce is riding high off her hit single "Irreplaceable," which has taken B' Day all the way to No. 6 on the charts, compared to last week's No. 9. Her sales have increased to 173,300 this week, in comparison to last week's 68,000. To date, the album has made off with 1,397,500 copies.
Hitting up the No. 8 spot this week is Akon. The songwriter behind the past hit "Locked Up" is back again with his second solo LP, Konvicted. The singer from Senegal has pushed out the hits "Smack That," and "I Wanna F*** You" which have pulled together to round up 448,200 copies after two weeks. This week, Akon has finished off with 163,700 discs sold.
Taking the No. 11 seat this week is Justin. "My Love" is still doing well, contributing to the 138,300 copies sold this week. In total, JT has banged it out at 1,808,300. Losing the race at No. 25 this week is Fergie. Once following Beyonce's trail, Ferg has slipped eight seats on the charts this week to No. 25, with 77,100 discs sold. Dutchess is sitting tight at 655,100. Coming in at No. 28 this week is John Legend. To date, Legend has moved 532,800 units, with the week-in total reading off at 62,900.
